Wheeling University is a private, co-educational university located in Wheeling, West Virginia. It was a Jesuit university from its founding in 1954 until 2019 when it was renamed Wheeling University and became a Catholic university affiliated with the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston. Approximately 1,300 students attend Wheeling University. Wheeling offers 30 undergraduate majors and 6 graduate programs. The campus also houses two prominent National Aeronautic and Space Administration buildings: Robert C. Byrd National Technology Transfer Center (NTTC) and Erma Ora Byrd Center for Educational Technologies (CET). The CET building is the official home of NASA's Classroom of the Future. Wheeling University competes in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as a member of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC). The motto of Wheeling University is Luceat Lux Vestra, which means "Let your light shine."
